By Vandoren Product Code: CR19 Reed Strengths 1 1.5 2 2.5 3 3.5 3.5+ 4 4.5 5+ Qty: Description V12 reeds are manufactured from cane tubes withthe same diameter as cane used for alto saxophone reeds. As aresult, they have a thicker heel and are cut on a longer palette with aslightly thicker tip than the Traditional. The longer palette means thatmore of the reed is vibrating, resulting in a deeper, richer sound. The thicker tip gives body to the attack and also increases the longevity of the reed. The introduction of the 3+ strength allows a smaller and morespecific gradation, resulting in reeds that are more consistent withinthe same strength.
